To change the time of an administration, select the administration on the time strip, select the Other tab, click Change Time, and choose the new time.
To change the dose unit of an administration, you must remove the current administration and add a new one. Click Cancel Administration on the Other tab, and then click Remove Administration. Click Add New, select the med, and document the administration with the correct unit.
Filter medications by type (such as Periop or Continuous) by using the filter buttons on the Active tab.
When documenting a fluid, you must enter a volume on the Volume tab before a total can appear in the Totals column on the intraprocedure grid.
To preview an Order Set without opening it, click the paper and magnifying glass icon next to its name.
When documenting the time of an event or medication administration that occurred well in the past, quickly scroll to the correct time on the time strip by clicking the clock icon and entering the time in the window that appears.
To record the time of an event or med admin that occurred at the same time as another event, click the green flag and select the relevant event.
In NoteWriter, to create a macro from your note, click the macro button and select Create macro from current data.
Copy all of a patient's previous note to a new note by clicking the paper with a blue arrow button. To copy part of a note, select the HPI, ROS, or Physical Exam tab and click double sheets of paper.
In the Modify Staff Entry window, record that staff began or left the case at the same time that an event occurred by clicking the green flag button and selecting the relevant event.
Ensure that you're documenting the correct blood product in the Blood Product Administration window by revalidating the blood. Either click Blood and scan the barcode, or enter the validation number and click Validate.
When recording blood pressure in a BP field, you don't need to type a / between the systolic and diastolic pressures. Type a space and the system enters the / automatically.
To change the time in the Anesthesia Stop section of the Post Navigator, click the Anesthesia Stop link, edit the time, and click Accept.
Change the date on the Status Board by entering a date range in the Start date and End date fields. Click the up and down arrows to move forward or backward one day.
To find a patient on the Status Board, press Ctrl+F to open the search field. Type a few letters of the patient's name, the surgeon's name, or the procedure and press Enter to highlight the case. If there are multiple matches, click Next to jump to each one.
Click the reports in the intraprocedure sidebar for additional patient information.
You can sort the Problem List section of the Preprocedure Navigator to zero in on problems relevant to you. To see your options for sorting the list, click Options.
To sort the problem list to show anesthesia-related problems in a separate section, select Anesthesia Related.
To sort the problem list by class, priority, or hospital problems, select Class, Priority, or Hospital.
Show problems that were deleted from the problem list by selecting Deleted. Show other types of problems by selecting Resolved, Non-Hospital, or Multidisciplinary.
Change the information shown about each problem by clicking Choose Columns and then selecting the information you want to see from the check boxes that appear.
Open the relevant activity by touching the reminder. (For example, touching a Document Checklist reminder opens the Checklist window.)
Review and modify all reminders in the Reminder Manager window. Open the window by touching the pencil icon below the Reminder Checklist.
See completed reminders by touching the grey checkmark below the Reminder Checklist.
